This past week was full of surprises, as I thought I knew what I wanted to pursue in the future until I took the career quiz. Years ago, I was determined to become a psychiatrist, as psychology was my favorite class in high school. I knew what path to take and I had the next decade of my life planned out within the span of a year. It wasn’t until I took that quiz that I realized that psychiatry/neurology did not seem like the right career to programmed websites like the one we explored in class, as they did not appear as follow-up suggestions to my list of likings results. Instead, anthropology and education were the top two suggestions that I never considered in the past.
I am not sure I am completely compelled that these are the careers that fit my personality or that I would like to study and practice in the future. I think I will retake that quiz and compare the results then. For now, I will write a cover letter for one of the website’s suggested careers and see how that goes 🙂
