While this was not expressed in the movie, but rather in my own research on Lee Israel’s future life events, my favorite event about Lee Israel is her resolution where she redeemed herself by writing her own novel where she sought forgiveness for her prior actions.
I was delighted to find out that her authentic writing gained attention and that she succeded in her writing career.
I was also glad she received no time in prison, but rather community service, and other minor duties to compensate for her violations, as they were not minor, and in other cases, it would’ve received larger consequences.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie, especially the actors’ realism in acting.
